Connor Ciment, 23
2016 Bike Adventure Trip Leader
Returning 2015 Fuller Center Cyclist
Americus, GA
I signed up for the Fuller Center Bike Adventure last year because I wanted to do something exciting before starting a career. I ended up finding myself so passionate about the mission of the Fuller Center, and the avenue for service in the Bike Adventure, that I decided to commit this year to service with them. I am extremely excited to be in this role leading a fantastic group of people across the country! I was overwhelmed last summer with how much the experience grew me, and I expect the new challenge of leading will call me to grow even further.
It doesn’t get much better than this: living simply, biking daily, building homes and lifelong relationships. What more could you ask for!? Tailwinds I guess…

2016 Bike Adventure Trip Leader
Covington, KY
Fundraising Goal: $4,000 – where most needed
Greetings! My name is Macy Holsinger, and I am so thankful to be a part of the Fuller Family! As a traveling nurse, I have acquired Christian brothers and sisters and friends across the country and around the world, and riding with the Fuller Center in broadens that network. Riding across the country has been a dream of mine for a few years, and I am very excited about the possibility of actually getting to do it this summer, Lord willing. Fuller Center rides combine some of my very favorite things: serving, meeting new people, adventure, new challenges, cycling, and trusting God in the midst of the mundane and extreme.

Nashville, TN
Fundraising Goal: $4,000- Fuller Center for Housing of Middle Tennessee
Hi! My name is Lindsey Bawcom and I live in Nashville, TN. I teach elementary special education and also coach a kid’s running club after school. Most importantly, The Fuller Center means the world to me and I’m excited to be back again for the 3rd year in a row (2nd time whole way). With FCBA, you get to combine the best of both worlds; cycling the USA and seeing the true beauty it has to offer, but also focusing on helping others better their homes so that they have a decent, stable place to call home. Since being involved with this organization, I’ve seen lives changed and it has changed mine for the better as well. I’m excited to get started and have my funds raised go towards The Fuller Center of Middle TN so that more of the people in my community will have the opportunity for a hand up and a better living situation. See you all soon!

I’M BACK!!!!! This will be my third year in a row riding with the Fuller Center. For the past two years I have done the whole way and now it’s time to start being a big girl and work during the summer so unfortunately I can only do a few weeks. Ever since I started in 2014 I have been hooked and keep coming back for more. I love the fact that I can ride my bike and see this beautiful country and also help those in need of a decent place to live. I can’t wait to get back out here and meet all of you and see some familiar faces!!

I am an avid cyclist that enjoys long touring rides. I also enjoy helping people that need help. I am an average handyman and can do most plumbing and electrical work as well. I also know how to handle a paint brush or yard rake. Therefore I assume this ride is a good fit for me.

Fundraising Goal: $500
Hey there- I am extremely excited about riding in the Fuller Center Bike Adventure again this summer!
Last year’s FCBA, which started in California and ended in Maine, set records for number of participants, mileage completed, and money raised. I joined the ride for a week and we rode and built our way from Indianapolis, Indiana to Aurora, Ohio.
When people ask me about that week and what it was like, I often find myself describing it as transformational. It was not only an opportunity to invest in a world-class cause, but a great experience riding and working along-side of some of the most dedicated and focused people I’ve ever met. This had a profound and positive impact on me, my family, and the generous people who donated to my ride.
Reflecting on last summer’s ride is why I am so excited about this summer’s ride. This year’s FCBA starts in Seattle, Washington, and finishes in Washington, DC. I will be riding the final section starting in Columbus, Ohio, and cover some 400 miles. Like last year, I will be donating $ 1 per mile to the Fuller Center. Please provide support for the FCBA effort and this worthy cause by donating any amount per mile you can, or any amount! If you decide to donate, thank you very much for your financial support.
P.S. While not my proudest nutritional moment, I am also excited about this summer’s ride because there may unlimited access chocolate milk along the way.
P.P.S. My ride this year is dedicated to my mother, the original volunteer in our family.
Brianna Kelly, 20
Yankton, SD
Whole Way Rider
Fundraising Goal: $7,000
I’m Brianna Kelly, and I will be freshly out of my teens as I embark on this adventure! In my free time I love to swim, bike, hike,(pretty much anything outdoors… sign me up!) read books, and help out at my church with the little kiddos. I live in Yankton South Dakota with my parents and younger brother. I decided to go to an expensive college for a year, and then came back home and landed a full time job as a CNA at a nursing home to pay off my debt. Biking across the USA is something I have always dreamed of doing, and the trip will be a celebration of being debt free, and a marker of a fresh start to my adult life! I enjoy serving, encouraging, and being a friend to people of all ages, so this opportunity seems like the perfect fit for me! Interestingly enough, the way I heard about this trip in the first place was when Biola University (where I went to college) had a fair and I stopped at the Fuller Center for Housing’s booth last year. Ever since then I couldn’t get the idea out of my head!
Brenda Heathcoat, 47
Lemoore, CA
Whole Way Rider
Fundraising Goal: $4,000
After years of dreaming about cycling, I purchased my first “adult” road bike last May. I fell A LOT my first month of riding but by June I was living my dream cycling 20-63 miles every ride. While accompanying my military husband to Fallon, NV (a GREAT place to cycle) I began researching places to ride in the San Joaquin Valley, Ca. and discovered The Fuller Center Bicycle Adventure! As I became more aware of all the Fuller Center for housing does for people and WHY, my heart was filled with compassion and I KNEW I wanted to be a part. Cycling across the country, Loving people along the way is a perfect mission for me while my husband is deployed.

Last year’s Fuller Ride was one of life’s high points. We had a great route, great riders, and helped people along the way. The Fuller Center does good work and inspires us to be the people we want to be. I can’t think of a better way to spend the summer. You see this country from a whole new perspective when you tour by bike. You see the good and not-so-good.

My name is Ericka. I have had a dream for years to ride my bike across the United States, but never wanted to ride alone. My friends always thought I was crazy, or were never interested in joining me. When I saw that there was an opportunity to ride and volunteer at the same time, I realized that this was a chance of a lifetime to achieve something I thought would never happen. I knew that this was the time in my life that I would finally turn a vision into a reality. I am excited to combine my dream with volunteering within the communities in which we live.
Chicago, IL
Whole Way Rider
Fundraising Goal: $5,000
Hi! My name is Steffani Zavala from Chicago, IL. I am joining the FCBA for a few reasons. First and foremost, my now-husband, Luke Zavala, did the Summer Ride in 2012. Our friendship was still relatively new, so a few days before he left, he told me he was about to bike across the entire west coast!
At first, I thought he was joking, but if there’s one thing Luke does NOT joke about, it’s biking! Naturally, I was super excited for him, although I did question his sanity for just a fraction of a second. 😉 As Luke journeyed through the days, I read his blog and when he came home, I realized how much I had missed him. We started dating shortly thereafter. Hey, thanks, Fuller Center! 🙂 We were married this past May.
I’m also doing the ride because I’ve always been fond of riding my bike.
It’s pretty great. I started taking more adventurous routes once I got my road bike from Luke in Christmas 2012 (my “first engagement ring,” he later told me). I did a century ride called “Le Tour de Shore” in the summer of 2013, but since then, I haven’t ridden anywhere close to that many miles. I’m prepared to make the most of these last autumn days, however, and even brave the Chicago winter in the name of training!
I’m greatly excited for FCBA 2016, but also incredibly scared. I know God, Luke, my friends, and my family will be there supporting me – even if it’s just mentally – when the going gets tough. This is such a unique and amazing opportunity! Luke and I can’t wait to experience the roads and the sites with you!

Fundraising Goal: $4,000
Hey, everybody! My name is Luke Zavala, and I a returning Fuller Center rider from 2012. I teach Health and Wellness at a high school in Chicago, and I love spending my summer breaks serving others. Over the last few summers, it’s been my privilege to serve God and teenagers through an amazing organization called Young Life. I’ve worked at several of their camps around the country leading mountain bike tours, running obstacle courses, heading up dish-washing crews, and sharing my story of redemption in Christ.
After getting married to my beautiful wife Steffani in May, we began talking about ways to serve others together. We decided that we wanted to take our passion for cycling and join up with the Fuller Center. What better way to spend the summer, see our beautiful country, and help people in need find affordable housing than from the saddle of a bike?
We are so excited for our journey together, and for the adventure that God has in store for us this summer!

I have worked full time for 99% of my adult life and I’m now beginning my retirement with a great adventure to join the Fuller Center for a bike ride across the United States. Not only that, my daughter, Audrey, is also going to do the ride. How cool is that! I’m an avid cyclist and completed RAGBRAI, a bike ride across Iowa which is the largest touring bike ride in the world, several years ago. The Fuller Center’s route looks to be very scenic and it’s awesome that will will be raising money to help people in need with housing.

Hello, I’m Gloria Mesick. I work at Lourdes Catholic School teaching 3rd graders. My faith is an integral part of my life. After my boys went to college, I renewed my childhood love of biking. My good friend, Jackie, always had a dream to ride across the United States. I was not on board until she showed me The Fuller Center for Housing site. I love the idea of seeing this beautiful country by bike while joining in the mission to help those in need of housing. I enjoy long bike rides and getting to know others, so I am excited to join this faith-filled journey!

Fundraising Goal: $1,000
Hello everyone! My name’s Laurence, and I’m a college student working on a linguistics degree living in Oklahoma. I did a solo bike and walk trip in 2012 and got hooked on it! In 2014 I was looking for group rides and found out about the Fuller Center’s bike adventure and their mission to give people in need homes. It’s a mission I love being a part of! Travelling the country (via bike) and working at build sites of homes is amazing! This will be my third year on the ride. Ideally I’d like to do the first five segments but I’ll just have to see how much money I can raise. I look forward to meeting all the repeat riders as well as some new faces!

I was an all-the-way in both 2014 and 2015, as well as a spring rider last year. At the conclusion of last year’s bike adventure in Portland, Maine, I announced that I would be back again in 2016. Raising over $10,000 for the Fuller Center for Housing and surpassing 10,000 miles with the FCBA is now a personal goal for me so I am committing once again to being an all-the-way rider. You get a whole different perspective of our country crossing it by bicycle that isn’t possible by other means of transportation. Visiting places I’ve never been, seeing old friends, making new friends, participating in build days like the one last year in Independence, MO, working on Tabitha’s Closet , words simply cannot adequately describe the experience or joy. I encourage anyone who is thinking about a cross-country bike adventure to join me and the FCBA.

I can’t stay away! I was lucky enough to join the Fuller family for a segment last summer. The fellowship and outreach of this group is truly remarkable. Riding across the country is definitely on my bucket list…someday! But for now, I am still juggling the demands of a busy veterinary clinic and family. I am very excited to be joining you all for the first two weeks!

Hi, I’m Dave and I’ll be our FCBA support van driver again this summer. I was your support van driver for the 2015 Spring and Summer rides. Combining building/service with sagging for the Fuller Center Bike Adventure was great last year and I’m looking forward to it again!

I was an all way rider in 2015. I had a great time meeting new biking friends, talking with people in the churches, seeing some beautiful scenery, and working on the builds. Unfortunately, I used up all my leave for last year’s trip so I will only be able to do a part of the ride this year.

Fundraising Goal: $4,000
Retired from the physics department of Cal State Chico. Have been cycling for about 25 years, the first 22 on an upright and the last 3 on a trike. Enjoy the scenery at a bike’s speed and the companionship of other riders. Am taking this trip because I have not seen much of the northwest or the states east of the Miss river.

Geezerville a.k.a. Broomfield, CO
Whole Way Rider
Fundraising Goal: $4,000
I am geezerman from Geezerville, CO, and this will be my sixth consecutive year riding with FCBA. I have ridden all of the previous Spring Rides, and ridden or supported the summer rides since 2011. Obviously I am hooked on and love FCBA and their mission, the people I ride with, the churches that open their doors for us, and the people we all help.
My son Matthew and my granddaughter Harper have ridden with me a few times, and my wife Lois has supported with me, making those events extra special.
This 2016 ride is a repeat of the 2011 ride which is the first ride I participated in. On the way to Seattle in 2011, the FCBA van was in an accident, and I was injured and had to miss the first three weeks rehabilitating my shoulder. So this year I will be biking the three weeks I missed, and either biking or supporting the rest of the ride. My mini van will again be used as the second support vehicle.
My blogging has been sporadic the last couple of years, but I will again be trying to blog in 2016. If interested here is the link: geezerlog.blogspot.com.

I am an avid year round cyclist here in Southwestern Indiana. I found the FCBA about 4 years ago. It has become a part of my annual tradition. I love riding while raising funds for such an amazing organization. I have also been on two Legacy Build weeks. I can’t say enough about how great it is to help reduce the number of people living in poverty housing. I love being on the Fuller Center rides to share time with the riders, hosts and hostesses, and to work on building projects as we go. I have experienced these rides with my daughter and have found so many new family members here as well. I look forward to seeing friends again and meeting all the new riders. I am anxious to see the differences we can make by serving this year. Please support my ride!

Fundraising Goal: $4,000
Very early one summer morning in 1999 I met a women at an I80 rest stop in the Great Salt Lake Desert. She was part of a group of Germans who were riding across the U.S. This amazing women was in her 60s. Bike riding across the U.S. became a dream of mine. In 2000 I bought my 1st recumbent bike and joined a bike club. I ride almost every day. For 2 1/2 years I rode a century ride at least once a month year round, till I started to question the wisdom and safety of riding in the Illinois cold of January and February. I am a semi-retired social worker who recently finished caring for my elderly father and am looking forward to caring for my future grandchildren. Now I have a summer between family obligations to devote to my dream of riding across the U.S. As a social worker I have worked with homeless people and families, individuals and families surviving domestic violence, and inter city communities trying to stop the violence and build safe communities. I am a Civil Rights Mediator and I truly believe equal opportunity for adequate housing, living wage jobs, and fair and equal treatment and access to and by government agencies is essential to safe, strong neighborhoods and healthy families. I am a member of a Unitarian Church that is very active in social issues.

I love to help others while doing an activity that I thoroughly enjoy! Biking and building. Please help me raise awareness about poverty homelessness here and abroad. Awareness is only the first step of many steps. We also need the funds to purchase the building materials needed to repair, remodel or construct homes. For example, we helped a Vietnam Veteran named Oscar replace the roof on his garage, along with giving some TLC to the house exterior. We were so grateful to be able to help Oscar, it was truly an honor!. Can you please help me help others? Here is the link to see what we did.

I am retired RN and full-time Grandma. I started out just wanting to ride my bike long distance -my husband didn’t want me riding alone. I came across the Fuller Center bicycle adventure while researching the Natchez Trace. It was coming close to my home so I tried a week in 2013. I soon discovered it was more about helping people then it was about just riding your bike. Last year I rode with my 15 year old grandson hoping to get him hooked on helping people and riding – it worked. HE LOVED IT! This year I’m bring 2 grandchildren. My husband is going to drive a long- he can’t understand how anyone would want to ride their bike that far or be away from home. Hopefully he gets the bug to be a sag when he retires in a few years or at least understands there are more people out there that like to ride just to ride.
I can’t say enough about the Fuller Center it’s amazing to watch so many people helping others.

Whole Way Rider
Tuscaloosa, AL
Fundraising Goal: $5,000- where most needed
I am a graduate student at The University of Alabama, studying for a Master’s degree in Applied Economics. Although I have spent the past 5 years in Tuscaloosa, I was born and raised in Tolland, CT (a suburb of Hartford, which I’m told is our state capitol), where I attended a Catholic high school and was active in sports. As an undergraduate student at UA, I became involved with the lacrosse club team and community service projects in Alabama’s Black Belt region. I was also fortunate enough to study in Mannheim, Germany as an exchange student in the spring of 2013. More recently, I had the privilege to coach the defensive backs at Northridge High School (Tuscaloosa) this fall…the Jags finished the season 9-3, and it was an incredible growth experience for me. My career aspirations are unsettled, but my main goal involves avoiding office cubicles and being outside / with good people for the majority of the day.
I am not exactly an experienced distance biker…yet. But I am drawn to participate in the Fuller Center Bike Adventure for reasons both societal and personal, which transcend the simple athletic challenge of the ride (though it is far from “simple”!). On a “big picture” level, I think that while affordable housing is a major challenge of our time, it is often overlooked in broader discussions about income inequality and social justice. Yet, access to affordable housing is arguably the most basic need that individuals and families have, and can be the bedrock of social success, as it radiates out into economic, legal and health dimensions. Since my former roommate and close friend Connor Ciment came to be involved with the Fuller Center, I have learned more about the Center’s work and have met many of those who keep it running. I am now a true believer in these folks; in my opinion, they are attacking the problem of affordable housing in a just, humble, transparent, and EFFECTIVE way. I am astonished to hear about their growth over the past decade, and hope to contribute in some small way to their mission through this ride and my fundraising.
On a personal level, I think that this bike adventure is something that I need in my life right now. Post-undergraduate life has been at times exciting and at times unfulfilling, but confusing throughout. It is my hope that by meeting like-minded, thoughtful individuals on this ride (of all ages!) I will be able to center myself a little as I continue figuring out my station in this “adult” stage of life. I look forward to detaching myself from the rat race of grad school…internships…job applications…etc. for a summer, and just letting myself grow both spiritually and emotionally as I attempt this very physical challenge.

My name is Nate Stroempl. I did the Fuller Center Bike Adventure in the summer of 2013 from Savannah, Georgia to Vancouver, British Columbia and had an absolute blast! During the trip, I picked up a GoPro and a hand held HD camcorder and filmed as much of the ride as I could. Since then I have traveled to other places around the world filming some of my other adventures, mostly just for fun. Being an artistic person, I found myself really enjoying making videos and so I applied to be one of the videographers for this next ride to see if I could use this new-found hobby for something good. And thus here I am! Although my role this year will be different, I am very excited to be a part of this again!

Riding with the Fuller Center is about being a family passionate for serving others. The riders bond over the week riding across the nation and we have a great opportunity to serve and to spread the message of hope through decent housing. What a great opportunity to minster, ride, and enjoy time with the Fuller family. I’ve been riding with Fuller for three years and it is the highlight of my biking adventures for the year. I encourage you to join use either on a bike, helping out along the journey, through financial support or praying for us on our journey. Oyee!

I’m a bike advocate in northern Virginia, and love to serve others. I also want to challenge myself to do things that in my own strength and laziness I won’t accomplish. Helping others, riding with my buddy Lesly, and seeing this beautiful country from the seat of my bike — priceless. I’m at a point in life where my health is great, and the demands on my time (kids, family) are low. It’s time to do something awesome!

I am a recently retired grandmother, who enjoys riding her bike. Although I have completed several multi-day bike tours, my bucket list includes a cross-country ride. After learning about your organization from several friends, I decided that this is an opportunity that I shouldn’t pass up. I’ve even recruited another friend to join in on the fun! I find the statement; “…. a hand up, not a hand out …. ” very inspiring and I look forward to offering my hand!

Fundraising Goal: $4,000- Desert Communities Fuller Center for Housing
Cycling has been one of my passions for over 45 years, completing several multi-day tours, numerous charity rides, several century rides, and the Colorado segment in the 2015 Fuller Center Summer Adventure. The Desert Communities Fuller Center for Housing does amazing work, building new and modifying older homes for our disabled American veterans. That’s why I have decided to help by participating in the 2016 Fuller Center Bicycle Adventure. I will ride 859 miles from Yellowstone National Park to Salt Lake City then on to Cheyenne, Wyoming.
During the ride we will spend a day building a new home with a family that will be able to purchase it at cost @ 0% interest. They also must contribute 250 hours to future Fuller Center projects; making this a helping hand-up instead of a simple handout. All funds raised by my ride this year will be Credited to our local Fuller Center Affiliate, Desert Communities Fuller Center for Housing, building new and modifying older homes for disabled veterans.
Thank you in advance for visiting my Donor page and for your prayers and support for our mission!

Hi! My name is Kristin and this will be my first time riding with the Fuller Project. Biking across the U.S. has always been at the top of my bucket list, and even more so to do it for a good cause. I stumbled upon this awesome opportunity while on a service trip abroad and knew it was the trip for me. I am currently living in Madison and pursuing a degree in occupational therapy. I know this summer will be a unique, challenging, and rewarding experience all in one. Each day, my excitement to meet everyone and begin this faith-filled adventure grows. This will make my fourth ride (third year) riding with the Fuller Center, but my first time going coast-to-coast. Over the last several years, my respect and admiration for the great work done by the Fuller Center has continued to deepen; I’m not aware of many organizations that do so much in so many places with so little staffing and overhead. I like knowing that I’m getting the maximum “bang for the buck” from my contributions, and can solicit contributions from my friends and family with confidence that it all goes towards a great cause.
I’m thankful for the support of my family, but especially my wife Lisa. To say I couldn’t do this without her would be a tremendous understatement. Speaking of family, I’m looking forward to once again riding with my brother Ben Rivers, although this ride will by far be the most time we’ve spent together since we were kids. I guess we’ll have to see how that goes!
Can’t wait to meet the rest of the team in Seattle and meet new folks along the way.

Inspired by others who have biked cross-country, I decided that I should give it a go as well. When I learned about the Fuller Center Bike Adventure, I knew this was the perfect opportunity. I spent two years working for Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity as an AmeriCorps member and developed a passion for affordable housing—and carpentry work. Since I moved to Minneapolis 3 years ago, biking has become part of my daily life. I love biking the miles of trails around the lakes and enjoy zipping through rush hour traffic, feeling sorry for those stuck in their cars. I’m currently in graduate school in a program called Leadership in Student Affairs. My master’s degree will allow me to work with college students in a variety of ways, but my dream job would include engaging students into the community. I’ve always had a heart for doing service and also for adventure and traveling. I’m excited about this ride for the joys and challenges of such an epic journey. It’s hard to believe that I’ll be biking coast to coast, but I’m ecstatic to do it for such a worthy cause! Let the training begin!

My name is Patrick Johnson. I am a criminal justice adjunct professor at the State University of New York in Fredonia. Prior to teaching I was the Warden of the Chautauqua County Jail in Mayville, NY, and enjoyed a 31 year career in corrections until I retired in February 2013. One of the most enjoyable things I have ever done was being a volunteer varsity football coach for 20 years at my alma-mater, Southwestern Central High School. I am an outdoor enthusiast at heart. I love cycling, hiking, backpacking, fly fishing, kayaking, and occasionally a round of golf. I have been section hiking the Appalachian Trail for several years now, and have cancelled my plans to hike the state of Maine for this adventure. The trail will be there in 2017.
I keep a Chinese Fortune Cooking fortune in my wallet at all times that says; “Keep true to the dreams of your youth.” I will be 59 in March, and since I was a freshman in high school I have always wanted to ride a bike across America. I am a workaholic by nature, and work has always come first in my life. I am realizing it is time to smell the roses in my life and realize some of the dreams I created in my youth. I also enjoy working on houses. I am restoring my home that was built in 1874. So, when I discovered the Fuller Bicycle Adventure there was no doubt I would be a part of this program. I dedicated my life to helping people, especially those who are incarcerated.
That was my job. There are a lot of people behind bars who just need an opportunity for change; my job was to provide that opportunity to give them hope, and eventually faith.
So, riding my bike across America, working on houses, and helping people…this looks like a perfect fit for me.

Began riding bikes for fun as a kid with a childhood friend around the neighborhood. Years later, after college, began riding again this time to commute to work. A couple more years and now I’m part of the East Side Bike Club along with my wife, where we ride throughout Southern California. We ride through the streets, through the concrete jungle, through the open bike paths, along the ocean, and up mountains into the clouds. Riding is a part of me that without knowing started at a young age and luckily has continued as I have gotten older. I admire those who are older in age and are still youngsters riding their legs off as if they are little kids without a care in the world except to ride more. I hope to continue riding as they do. I heard about a great ride where you can really make a difference in people’s life at the same time. A cycling friend, Monica Busby, completed this ride two years ago and last year my wife participated. This coming ride I wish to join my friends and create new ones while pitching in my grain of sand to a world that asks nothing but a helping hand.

I’m very new to biking long distances but am happy to be in a city where this is commonplace…and am looking for any advice I can get to better prepare! I also grew up doing a few mission trips in the summers, so this feels like this might be a good fit:/! Hopefully! Happy and safe trails! I am again so thankful to be a part of the Fuller Center Bicycle Adventure. This is my second opportunity as I was a segment rider from Savannah, GA to Montgomery, AL a few years ago. I knew it would be a great mission trip as it is always a blessing to be a part of God’s work. As always, He did not disappoint. We had an amazing time riding bikes and seeing our beautiful country that God created and at the same time we were the “hands and feet” of Christ helping some wonderful people in need of better living conditions. I think as Americans we can take for granted the many blessings that we have. It was a great reminder that there are people right here in America that we can show Jesus’ love by giving them a “hand up” and help them improve their living situation. It was such an honor to be a small part of being able to bring joy into families’ lives by providing suitable and safe living environments. You should have seen their faces! Please join me in putting more smiles on people’s faces by donating even a small amount to this amazing mission. Every dollar goes to funding a building project and not to us riding. You can help make a difference and be Jesus’ “hands and feet” with us!

This is the second time that I will be able to participate in the Fuller Center Bicycle Adventure. My wife and I had the privilege of doing a segment ride from Savannah, GA to Montgomery, AL. What a wonderful mission trip to be a part of! We were able to combine biking and helping out some wonderful people. We were the Lord’s hands and feet by providing some families with help making their homes livable again. It was such an honor to be there in the final stages of the process and seeing these families faces when they walked into to their newly repaired homes. We are excited to participate again in the FCBA, but this time as an entire family. My wife and my twin boys will be joining me this year. We can’t wait to see how God will work to show everyone how much He loves them. Please join us by donating to such a wonderful cause. I know it will be such a blessing to the family or families that are in need, but in turn God will bless you and your family! Even a small donation will go a long way so don’t think that your donation isn’t needed. Together we can make a difference! God bless!

My parents were segment riders a few years ago. When we picked them up in Montgomery, AL, my twin brother and I were able to meet a bunch of the Fuller Center riders. We got to play in the gym with them and hang out for awhile. They were a bunch of great people. We heard of the families that the riders were able to help along the way. This year, my brother and I are excited to join the FCBA for a segment ride with our parents. We too want to be a part of God using us to help other people in need. Please help us help these families by donating to this event. All the money we raise will go directly to the families that we will be helping.

We heard lots of stories of how they were able to help families along the way and come together as a FCBA “family”. Now my brother and I want to join our parents to share in this amazing mission of helping people that are in need of better housing while having fun riding our bikes (part of the way). 🙂 Please help us reach our goal of raising $500 to help those in need of better housing. I never have ridden on a tour where all the riders are just like a close family where everyone cares and looks out for each other. Hi! I’m Renee’, from Maryland (though still an Oregonian at heart, even after being away – except for a few short trips – for nearly 40 years). I am a medical research librarian/manager for a federal agency, enjoy outdoor activities, cooking, and good books, and have several roles in my church, one of which is missions coordinator. In working with missions projects, you hear the phrase “Pray, give, and go” a lot. All three have been part of my past FCBA experiences in ways beyond my expectations. I started long-distance cycling with two-day rides on the C&O Canal in 2006 and the impetus to do something I didn’t think I could do – but decided to try anyway. This was certainly the case with my first FCBA segment ride in 2014, in which I literally prayed my way up a four-mile climb. Like others, after that experience I wanted be part of it again and to challenge myself more with both the 2015 spring ride and three segments of the summer ride. Meeting such a physical challenge is an awesome experience in itself, but exponentially greater when combined with the unparalleled opportunities to help others, to build relationships, to pray for others and be prayed for by others, and to lift each other up literally and figuratively. I am blessed to be part such an amazing endeavor and to “pray, give, and go” on the Summer ride this year.
My ride goal for this year’s ride is to go further than last year by doing segments 6-9 – a goal which will require God’s intervention as I will be going through a major transition in my job, the timing of which will affect whether I have enough leave time. I am leaving it in His hands to determine how far I ride – even if it is only for the last few days into Washington, D.C.! Thanks so much for your prayers and your support to me and to the Fuller Center’s work to end poverty housing and give a hand-up!

Beyond excited to join the Fuller Center Bike Adventure and ride alongside great people while serving others and exploring the country I love! It is my mission and my passion to help others any way I can and this ride provides a rewarding opportunity to do so while accomplishing a lifetime goal of biking across the United States. After four seasons of high school football in Texas and five seasons of Division I collegiate football at Valparaiso University, I will finally have free time during the summer and I could not have dreamed a better way to spend my July and August. I wish I could start with everyone up in Seattle, but I will be making my way from Los Angeles and I will meet up with the group in Salt Lake City. I cannot wait for the thrills of the journey as well as the challenges and adversity. They are the elements of a true adventure. I am so thankful for the support of my family, friends, teammates, coaches, and teachers. I have been blessed with the best, so all I can do is thank God daily and serve Him endlessly.

I am a returning to complete the entire ride this year. The goals and concepts of the Fuller Center are consistent with the way I choose to live my life. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a group that is trying to make a difference.
You start out this process with finding a group to ride with; by the end of you journey, you have forgotten about the ride and are mostly concerned with trying to help someone and make a difference in their life. I look forward to sharing this experience with others.

I’m a hospital pharmacist from Ohio. I’ve done several dozen week-long bicycle rides. I’m more interested in seeing the sights along the way than I am in getting to the destination in a hurry. I have 3 adult children, an 13 year old son, two grandchildren, and a wonderful wife. I`m on our local county park board, and spend lots of time working to build our county`s first rail-trail.; ; ; ; I’ve ridden the spring ride twice, and was delighted to meet so many caring and enthusiastic traveling companions. The trip is a wonderful opportunity to combine my passion for bicycling while making the world a better place. I`m looking forward to a terrific week!

I am excited about joining the ride for a segment this summer. I love to bike and I love to serve others. Fuller Center sounds like an incredible organization with a mission that I am excited about. I am looking forward to experiencing it all to get a better feel for it. I will be considering the possibility of doing the whole ride across the country next summer.
