A Peaceful Day’s Ride

Written by: Diane Buckley-Maidt, Blue Ride

Today started with delicious banana smoothies made by Liz on the breakfast chore team – yum! As we crossed the pedestrian bridge heading out of Missoula the air was cool and crisp. The last 20 miles into Philipsburg was dry and hot. We rode mostly on scenic back roads and a few segments along I-90. Coming off one of the I-90 exits onto a back road we took a deep breath and drank in the peace and quiet. We rode much of the way along a meandering stream with beautiful meadows and mountain vistas. As we crested a hill close to Philipsburg we saw beautiful snow capped peaks in the distance. Philipsburg is a thriving, quaint little tourist town.
