Today was the last build day of the trip, and it was a great day to serve those in need of a hand up. The local Fuller Center in Aurora, OH joined forces with the local Rotary Club, Habitat for Humanity and community volunteers to work on 11 different projects, and clean up projects were also planned at local parks. One group also went to help at a Volunteers of America Center. In all we had about 110 volunteers to work on all the projects. It was the biggest bicycle adventure build day yet!
At the build site I worked at, we cleaned out a lot of bushes around the front deck, then re-built the railing and painted the whole deck. It was a solid day’s work and the older women who owned the house was very happy with the results.
I have been a part of the Bike Adventure since 2011 and worked on many difference Fuller Center projects all over the country. Today was another great day to serve as God’s hands and feet and help those in need. Serving others in need of a hand up is why we ride with the Fuller Center, and is what keeps people coming back year after year.
