A segment rider’s view

I have always loved to ride bikes and have been given a few opportunities to ride “long” distances in my life, but the Fuller Center Bike Adventure has been a great opportunity. It is truly a challenge to join a group of “strangers” and test your physical abilities, all while trying to keep a good attitude and not feel ill from fear and dehydration.

So here I am, and with much help from our Heavenly Father, I have met a lot of new friends, made a great riding buddy, and have been tested to ride 85 miles the first day, and then 97 miles today. The weather was perfect, and my riding buddy helped me to make my personal goal of completing my first Century ride! With her encouragement, we rode the extra 3 miles today to make the official 100 miles. I have been wanting to do a Century for several years now, and I have finally reached that goal! And this comradery is a central theme in the community of the Fuller Center Bike Adventure.

Tomorrow will be a “build day” where we will be assisting people in the community with housing needs. This is just one more example of the generous spirit the Fuller Center carries across the country.

So to summarize my experience with the Fuller Center Bike Adventure, it is a great experience with a great group of people doing a fantastic job to raise money for a worthy cause, the Fuller Center for Housing.
