Flat doesn't always mean easy

After Monday’s traversal of Trail Ridge Road, I thought that the flat days would be easy — nope!

Today’s century was in a constant headwind, presenting essentially an invisible “hill” during the entire ride. The terrain was a series of fields, mostly corn, so the scenery was somewhat repetitive. We just had to put our heads down, and grind it out. At times, the road led straight into the distance, as far as the eye could see.

Fortunately, the destination church provided dinner, which was FABULOUS (essentially, it had meat). Our trip leader Neil gave a special presentation to the church members, who were eager to combine The Fuller Center’s aims with their existing mission activities. We also get to sleep-in a bit tonight, since tomorrow is a very low-miles day. We’ll take it!
