The morning began just as they all do: lights on, load up the trailer, share a hearty breakfast, tidy up the church, then circle up for the day’s route briefing, devotion, and prayer.

For today’s devotion, Paul shared heartfelt stories about Millard Fuller and the Fuller Center for Housing, and how those experiences continue to inspire our journey and mission.

Looking ahead as we ride west, Neil introduced us to two new road companions—goathead thorns and gusty winds. The goathead thorn is a tiny but mighty adversary: a sharp, tire-piercing menace that lurks in low roadside weeds. As for the winds? Let’s just say they’ll be keeping us company every day from here on out.

Fortunately, today’s route northward came with generous tailwinds — nature’s high-five for all the work we’ve done so far. Though we wrestled with a few crosswinds, the ride was a joy.
