This is my 8th biking adventure with the Fuller Center. I have done 4 cross-country rides, the Natchez Trace, and 2 previous segment rides.
My favorite individual rides were the Trail of the Coeur d’Alene’s in Idaho in 2014 and the Colorado River Scenic Byway beginning just 2 miles out of Moab, UT on Utah Highway E-128 with spectacular views of towering red cliffs right up to the Colorado River in 2019. That being said, my favorite multi-day rides were along the Oregon Coast also in 2019; hence, I am back again.
This segment ride also marks two milestones for me. On Thursday I will have spent one whole year (yes, 365 days!) with the FCBA and I will surpass 20,000 miles. Hopefully this will not be my last ride with the FCBA. I would like to thank all my friends and family that both encouraged me and supported me over the years and also give a big Oyee to the support people and all our wonderful hosts.
On occassions I have received a donation during a ride from a complete stranger. On Sunday’s ride I received such a donation. This particular donation was the most moving donation I have ever received. It came from a homeless woman named Karen who was living in her car. Her generosity pretty much brought tears to my eyes. If you are reading this blog and were thinking about making a donation, please join Karen and support one of our riders or make a general donation to the Fuller Center for Housing.
