Riding The Paul Bunyan Trail
July 2, 2026

Today we had a wonderful 86-mile ride through the countryside and on some scenic bike trails including the Paul Bunyan trail.
We rode from Detroit Lakes to Walker Minnesota. We encountered a four mile stretch of road construction and may have got a wee bit of tar on our tires and bikes, the proverbial bicycle tar pit. The countryside was beautiful with small farms, gently rolling hills, lakes, and lush forests.
The bike trails were shady with the trees forming a canopy over our heads. We saw squirrels, rabbits, birds, deer, and other wildlife. We enjoyed a gentle breeze and mild temperatures. See the attached photos.
