Today, we rode from Orlando to Cocoa Beach — about 64 miles. Elevation gain was less than 400 feet in total.
It was an absolute beauty of a ride from the Spanish Moss hanging low in the trees to the flat Florida countryside all the way to the breezy Atlantic Coast with a few of what I call “Florida mountains” (bridges). We had three rest stops about every 15 miles today or so to let allow the riders to refuel and stay hydrated.
Back in 2018, I finally finished college and decided to take a leap of faith and join a Fuller Center ride. I purchased a bike that same year and signed for the cross-country trip in 2019. I could write a book with all the amazing uplifting stories of what went on during that trip.
I desired to do the trip 4-5 years prior to 2019, but each time I felt I should focus on school instead. Well, good things come to those who wait. I feel extremely blessed to have done 3 trips with the Fuller Center Bike Adventure now and plan to continue riding more in the future.
Each time I come to another Fuller event, it’s like meeting my second family — and growing it. I know biking across a country, let alone a state is pretty crazy sounding but I enjoy it tenfold.
I would like to extend a challenge to anyone reading this to take a leap of faith on something big that will benefit others and be a positive light in this world.
Much Love & Hugs!
