A Family and Class Reunion

By Mark Murphy

I’m amazed at how wonderful Fuller Center Bike Adventure trips continue to be for me even after logging more than 12,000 miles on them. The people are wonderful and it feels like a mixture of a family and class reunion with the added interest and excitement brought by the first timers.

I continue to be amazed at how the group morphs into a cohesive unit with amazingly little friction. It must be a combination of collective athletic interest, love of adventure, but surely most of all having a common purpose… to give back. When you think about it, it is really odd how comfortable this band of gypsies is traipsing from one church to the next, never quite knowing where we are, but happy we are together. I would have never thought that riding my bike 75 miles per day, sleeping on church floor linoleum, and eating peanut butter sandwiches many times per day with my mates could be quite so fulfilling. Oyee!!
