Today was just peachy! I rode my bike another day! Today we started at the Calvary Chapel in Willits, CA and ended at the First Baptist Church in Clearlake Oaks, over 47 miles and less than 4,700 feet of climbing!
We had the usual crazy climbs, crazy roads, maneuvering around crazy potholes (and attempts to repair them), crazy traffic, and a crazy tailwind the last half of the ride! I am thankful for a cement truck that held traffic back while myself and two other cyclists rode thru a one lane road construction zone for about 3 miles with a jersey barrier on one side and guardrails on the other. It was a downhill stretch and we were going about 35 miles per hour!
We generally have rest stops around 20 miles increments. People ask us what we are doing and we have the opportunity to explain the Fuller Center mission. We always receive positive feedback!
This is my fourth charity-type bike tour I’ve been on, the second with Fuller Center Bike Adventure. I am thankful I have the ability to do this! I am a “little” obsessed with cycling and I also like helping those in need. Giving back from what I have been blessed with.
Summing everything up, it was a “just peachy” day!
