Time

By Ky Griffin

Time passes so rapidly. When I was growing, summers used to last forever. Now as I’ve passed 65 years, it is gone in a blink. Because time passes so rapidly, I am writing this blog several days late.

We left Utah filled with a great breakfast at the city park, paid for by the church. The town was in full mode to celebrate. People were setting up chairs for the upcoming parade, while running events were already going on.

We rode out to face more climbing, as we have grown accustom to doing. I enjoyed riding into Moab, Utah to find a place to replenish the calories we burned. The Moab Grill had a special hamburger with fries and great apple pie with vanilla ice cream. What more American could you ask for on the 4th of July? We would spend the next two nights in the Moab City Gym, showering at the Moab Aquatic Center. After showering, we enjoyed cooling off in its pool until a young fellow approximately three years old almost drowned. He was revived, reminding me of the brevity of life.

We enjoyed Moab’s 4th festivities of a band playing in the park and fireworks.

The Fourth of July in Moab, Utah was a good day.
