It was a challenge, but I made it up and over. Many of the others did too and some tried but had to walk. Everyone was still in good spirits no matter how they got over the mountain. The day was hot with no cloud cover until shortly after our last rest stop. 

Then thunderstorms and heavy rain caught a bunch of still riding and to say we got soaked is an understatement. We ended up getting picked up for the last 9 miles because the lighting was so bad.
Reuben Garcia(Benny & I were sweeps today and a wonderful day. It’s nice to spend the day riding and getting to know one another better as we help keep riders on course and assist them as needed. 

The King Cross Church fed us a wonderful meal of lasagna, chicken fettuccine and ceasar salad. We all loved it and headed to bed early. Tomorrow we ride 62 miles into Columbia, Tn and get a rest day on Sunday. Pam will be heading home to help babysit Bryson and I will continue on with the group for another 2 weeks as a support person instead of being a rider
