Today we bicycled 78+ miles from Carrington to Valley City, North Dakota. Beautiful sunny day, but we had some head winds to contend with. All arrived safe and sound.
Today was a 54 mile ride from Harvey to Carrington, North Dakota. How glorious it was! Yesterday, we had crosswinds for 74 miles. What a treat to have tailwinds for 80% of the ride today.
The churches we’ve been staying in have been beyond generous, welcoming, caring and loving. They remind me of Jesus’ words, “A city on a hill cannot be hidden” (Matthew 5:14b).
Being able to hear stories and meet people along the journey has been my favorite part so far. I’m learning so much about new things like biking and more importantly, the power of God.
Sunday was a nice rest day. Pam and I had a big country breakfast at “Grandma Sharon’s,” then walked back to the church for the 9:00 am service. It’s nice to be back on Central Time so I don’t wake up so early. A group of us went to go see the new “Top Gun” movie and we really liked it.
There are jokes made over and over about the “Groundhog Day” movie aspect of a Fuller Center Bike Adventure trip. In many respects, the comparison is very fitting.
The church in Havre filled us with food and joy, surrounded us with fellowship and prayed with us before we started our journey. In the devotion to start the day, we were reminded of the analogy of a cup being overfilled.
