Left from Fredericksburg, Ohio after an amazing breakfast provided by The Fredericksburg Presbyterian Church. Got to sample some of Professor Gary’s real maple syrup. And it was good!
Friday June 3 was a perfect day for our second build. The skies had emptied themselves yesterday but still partial clouds and a high of 86 with a breeze. Jodi, the head of Leland’s Fuller Center, came to Emmanuel Baptist at 7:30 a.m. to give us the game plan.
The Underground RR crew knocked out the first build by painting the interior of this house, prepping the subfloor for flooring, cutting grass, removing wicked weeds, loading, transporting, and unloading scaffolding, ladders, drywall, vinyl plank flooring, miter saws, and a large trailer full of construction trash. Oyee!
So we started our day with some ice breaker games to get to know each other better. After finishing our chores and a quick simple lunch we were off to start our adventure on the Underground Railroad Ride.
Hey, y’all! Greetings from The Pelican State! Our bicycling team is gathering today in Slidell, Louisiana, about 35 miles north of New Orleans’ French Quarter.
