roof1Connor Ciment, 23
2017 Bike Adventure Trip Leader
Returning 2015 and 2016 Fuller Center Cyclist
Americus, GA

Hi Fuller Center Bike Adventurers, my name is Connor, and I will be leading the 2017 Summer Coastal rides. I am a second year Trip Leader with the Fuller Center, having led the Spring, Summer, and Fall in 2016.

It has been an absolute honor and privilege to lead rides this past year, and I have grown closer to the person I want to be through the fellowship of the FCBA community. The opportunity to dedicate myself to a cause that I am passionate about, all the while riding my bike across the country, has been an incredible blessing!

It doesn’t get much better than this: living simply, biking daily, building homes and lifelong relationships. I am excited to meet the newest addition to my Bike Adventure family!

Returning 2015 and 2016 Communications Specialist
Americus, GA

After graduating from Wofford College in May and interning for the Bike Adventure for two summers, I am now officially living in Americus, GA and am serving as a full-time communications specialist for the Fuller Center. I am amazed daily at how much I have grown to love this organization, and I couldn’t be happier that my adult life is kicking off in such a service-based manner.

I’ll be seeing y’all again in the summer of 2017!

Hi, I’m Brianna Kelly. I’m 20 and my first experience riding with this group was in 2016. It was possibly the best experience of my life up to this point, so I am back for another summer. I absolutely love the Fuller Center’s mission and am so excited to help raise money and awareness and be a part of what is sure to be an amazing team!

Traverse City, MI
Fundraising Goal: $2,500

I first road with the FCBA in the summer of 2012 on this very same route and I could not help but jump at the chance to ride it again.  Joining the ride in 2012 was my introduction to bike touring and a deeper experience with the Fuller Center for Housing, and I absolutely loved both.  I met amazing friends and worked with wonderful people to bike, build, repair, and just generally help wherever we could along the way.  In 2014 I was able to ride again and this time from coast to coast, all the while stopping to help more and meet more amazing people along the way.  Now in 2017 I will take a bit of my summer break from classes at the Great Lakes Maritime Academy in Traverse City, MI to adventure down the West Coast all over again.

Fundraising Goal: $2,500

My first exposure to the Bike Adventure was as a 2016 Segment 1 rider.  By the end of the week, I knew I had to come back for a greater opportunity to spread the word about the work of the Fuller Center, assist in fund raising for the Fuller Center’s mission, and most importantly, roll up my sleeves and work with other Bike Adventure riders to work on build  projects along the way.  I learned this isn’t bike riders doing good for others—it’s people doing good who ride bikes and I`m excited to be sharing this adventure with others who share that passion.

Last year’s Fuller Ride was one of life’s high points. We had a great route, great riders, and helped people along the way. The Fuller Center does good work and inspires us to be the people we want to be. I can’t think of a better way to spend the summer. You see this country from a whole new perspective when you tour by bike. You see the good and not-so-good.

I’ve done a few other bike trips and, for the past eight years, I’ve participated in a church sponsored work camp in rural Virginia. I’ve driven across country a few times. Last summer I joined the ride from Seattle to Washington, DC. The experience was better than I expected in every way and I’m looking forward to seeing the west coast from the seat of my bicycle. This will be a great opportunity to combine everything into one adventure, meet America, and help.

I had a great time last summer riding a segment of the cross country trip. I became passionate about Fuller and ending poverty housing. I am feeling called to have a bigger impact.  I look forward to the west coast ride, particularly the people we meet along the way and making a difference with this great cause.  Thanks for supporting me in any way you feel lead.

Marion, Ohio
Fundraising Goal: $2,500

I’m a hospital pharmacist from Ohio. I’ve done several dozen week-long bicycle rides. I’m more interested in seeing the sights along the way than I am in getting to the destination in a hurry. I have 3 adult children, a 14 year old son, three grandchildren, and a wonderful wife. I’m on our local county park board, and spend lots of time working to build our county’s first rail-trail. I’ve ridden the spring ride twice, as well as the first and last segments of the 2016 cross-country ride. I really enjoy the people that I meet on the Fuller Center Bicycle Adventures. The trip is a wonderful opportunity to combine my passion for bicycling while making the world a better place.

It is an amazing opportunity to give of yourself to others, learn more about your own strength, pedal out the frustrations in your life, see the country in an intimate way, and meet people whom you will come to care for as if they are your own family. Do it, sign up! You can do it! It is worth it!

Penny and I have been riding bikes for several years. We began riding comfort bikes around town. Then moved on to riding Rails to Trails for one to three days at a time. The last eight years have been spent on both trail and road bikes still doing Rails to Trails and local group and weekend road rides. Through our Church we have been on a few Mission building trips. This year we are looking forward to merging the two together by riding with the Fuller Center Bicycle Adventure. Looking forward to meeting other riders, volunteers, and learning what God has planned.
