Build Day Blessings

I have started my fourth week of riding and have ridden in seven states. We have worked on four building sites. Tuesday in Springfield, Ohio, we were split into three teams. One team work at the YMCA making improvements to the reception area, and the other two teams painted the inside of houses, getting them ready for families yet to be determined. Even though we did not meet the future families, it feels good to know that the work moved the local Fuller Center closer to completion, thus helping two families attain affordable housing.Continue reading

Memory Lane in the Great Plains

I rode with FCBA last year on the east coast route. When the announcement of the 2018 routes were made, I knew I had to ride, I just was not sure how many weeks I would make. Ocean to Ocean is the ride I chose, and how far to ride was the next decision. Penny, my wife, and I lived in Kansas for 25 years and moved to Owasso, Oklahoma fifteen years ago. I always wanted to bike-ride across Kansas, and there is a ride called Bike Across Kansas. Wow, back on the FCBA cross country ride again!!  I rode across the USA last year with this wonderful group of strangers that became friends.  I am so excited to meet the new people who have joined our merry band as well as catching up with some of the great people who have also returned from last years ride.
