Blessed to be a Blessing

Today we rode 58 miles from Bellefonte, PA to Lewisburg, PA. It still blows me away that there are church members who choose to wake up early (sometimes as early as 4:30am) to cook breakfast for a bunch of cyclist going across the country. This morning we had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast thanks to two special ladies from St. John’s Church. We had 2 egg casseroles this morning- one had turkey and the other had wild boar sausage.Continue reading

When we were getting ready to leave Illinois we looked for the sign and crossed the street to get a quick photo. This day we were joined by 3 cyclist from Evansville, Indiana. One of the cyclist is a RAM contestant and winner for his age group. I was looking forward to riding with him and had the opportunity for about 15 miles.

Last night was a “stone soup” kind of meal. Because we stayed at the Valley High School, there was no church community to feed us. On such nights, the “dinner team” is responsible for buying the groceries and preparing the meal. Unfortunately, 2 out of the 3 dinner team members had to go 100 miles to a bike store for repairs.
