The foundation of The Fuller Center is Faith in Action. Fuller Center Bike Adventures plays a critical role in this mission.  During this 600-mile journey we raised money for poverty housing.  Furthermore, we had the opportunity to serve those in need in Wasilla, Alaska at Camp Luther on our service day.

During our journey we stayed in churches to ensure that we are being good stewards of God’s resources. Neil, our fearless leader, often describes this as living simply so others can simply live.  These churches are often small and have sparse resources. But the fact that they are willing to open their doors and house us on this journey is a demonstration of service and faith.

The Book of James emphasizes that true faith is demonstrated through actions, particularly acts of service and compassion towards others, especially those in need. It highlights that a faith without works is a dead faith, meaning that simply claiming to believe is not enough; one must actively demonstrate that belief through tangible acts of love and service.  

Cycling across the amazing Alaska landscape reminds me of God’s creation and wonder. It puts my mind in the present. Furthermore, it makes me grateful to serve others while having the opportunity to complete this journey in the fellowship of others.

In the first half of the journey we were blessed with the best Alaskan weather in the past 30 years. As we traveled north the weather was more typical of Alaska in late August. Yesterday, in Denali National Park the temperatures dropped and the mountains and higher elevations were covered in snow. We had some tent issues driving many of us into cabins on Friday night. But in hindsight these challenges will make this trip more memorable. 

The riders on this journey come from all four corners of the US and made this trip even more amazing. It really makes you realize how special the Fuller Center Bike Adventure is to bring together such phenomenal people. 

Special thanks to the people who provided road support throughout this journey. Also, a special call-out to our fearless leader Neil Mullikin who remains calm even when curve balls are thrown his way. 

Finally, thanks to all of you who sponsored the Fuller Center riders for this journey. Please remember that the cost of the journey itself did not come from the donations but are 100% funded by the participants themselves. All donations are used to fulfill the mission of the Fuller Center.
