A Day in Dinosaur

Written by: Kelley Westenhoff, Blue Ride

Today’s Blue Ride from Roosevelt to Dinosaur was perfect. Light breeze, beautiful sunshine, just enough tailwind to make it memorable. Short miles and gentle grade changes. What more could anyone ask for? How about a place to sleep, food to eat, and a fun place to visit?

Yep, several of us went out to Dinosaur National Monument after our ride and before the excellent cookout provided by our host church, Dinosaur Bible Fellowship.  It was a fun field trip followed by a time of sweet fellowship with the folks of DBF.

One of the best things about the Fuller Bike Adventure is meeting interesting people. Pastor Chuck, who leads a small congregation at DBF, is an entertaining man with stories from his days doing long distance truck driving as well as days in the oil fields. It was great fun to spend time with him and other members of his congregation.
One of the sad things about the Fuller Bike Adventure is losing riders who have finished their time with us and need to return to work or other parts of their life. Today I realized we will lose two of our riders this Sunday even as we gain one. We will miss Jeff and Julio a great deal. They have both brought such joy to our Blue Ride!
