A Day Off in Page, AZ

Written by: Sara Dobbs

Today was a welcome day off the bikes! It was also Father’s Day, and many of us spent time calling and texting the fathers in our lives. After the morning church service at Faith Bible Church, several riders in the group headed for Lake Powell for jet skiing, swimming, and relaxation along the water’s edge. Another group took a guided tour of the Lower Antelope Canyon with an added stop at Horseshoe Bend to view the Colorado River. The day concluded with a painting project opportunity for a member of the congregation in need.

In addition to taking a break from pedaling and resting sore muscles, the days off the bike also provide added opportunity for thought and reflection. I know I’m not alone in being moved by this morning’s sermon message from Romans 8:28: “And we know that in all thing God works for the good of those who love him who have been called according to his purpose.” All of us experience disappointments, trials, hurts, and loss as we navigate through life, and it can be difficult to see at times how any good could come from the outcomes we face. The pastor’s words reminded us to pave our trust in God to bring us through every situation and to have faith that ultimately, love always wins.
